BOARD OF DIRECTORS SPECIAL MEETING

July 29, 2024

 

The Clayton Ridge Board of Directors held a special meeting on July 29, 2024 in the Superintendent’s office, Guttenberg.

 

Call to Order/Roll Call

President Jessica Bittner called the meeting to order at 7:00 AM.  Other members in attendance were Sam Brandt, Mike Finnegan, Ellen Johnson, Dan Kregel, Shelly Mommer, and TJ Pierce.

 

Also in attendance were Superintendent Shane Wahls and Board Secretary / Business Manager Logan Taylor.

 

Approval of Agenda

Motion by Finnegan and second by Kregel to approve the agenda. Motion carried unanimously.

 

New Business

 

  1. Employment

Motion by Brandt and second by Mommer to hire Payton Matthews as custodian. Motion carried unanimously.

 

  1. 2nd Reading of policy 412.2R1 Driver Compensation

Motion by Mommer and second by Johnson to approve the policy as presented. Motion carried unanimously.

 

  1. Lawn Mowing Agreement

Motion by Finnegan and second by Johnson to approve contracts with Miller’s Lawn Care (Guttenberg campus) and Brandel Lawn & Landscape (Garnavillo campus). Motion carried unanimously.

 

  1. Approve IAVA Contract Amendment/Extension

Motion by Brandt and second by Kregel to approve a ten-year agreement / extension with K12 Virtual Schools, LLC. Motion carried unanimously.

 

  1. Open Enrollments

Motion by Finnegan and second by Mommer to deny 2 applications to the Iowa Virtual Academy as the Iowa Virtual Academy is unable to meet their IEP needs at this time. Motion carried unanimously.

 

Adjournment

Motion by Finnegan and second by Mommer to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously.
