BOARD OF DIRECTORS

March 26, 2025

SPECIAL MEETING

 

The Clayton Ridge Board of Directors held a special meeting on March 26, 2025 at 5:45 p.m. in the High School Library, Guttenberg.

 

Call to Order/Roll Call

President Jessica Bittner called the meeting to order at 5:45 PM.  Other members in attendance Sam Brandt, Mike Finnegan, Ellen Johnson, Dan Kregel, and Shelly Mommer. TJ Pierce was absent.

 

Also in attendance were Superintendent Shane Wahls, Principal Terri Thompson, Dean of Students Wade Marlow, and Board Secretary / Business Manager Logan Taylor.

 

There were 3 other staff / community members in in attendance.

 

Approval of Agenda

Motion by Finnegan and second by Brandt to approve the agenda as posted. Motion carried unanimously.

 

New Business

  1. Budget Guarantee Resolution

Motion by Brandt and second by Mommer to adopt the following resolution:

 

RESOLVED, that the Board of Directors of CLAYTON RIDGE community school district, will levy property taxes for fiscal year 2025-2026 for the regular program budget adjustment as allowed under section 257.14, Code of Iowa.

 

Motion carried unanimously.

 

TJ Pierce arrived at 5:52 p.m.

 

  1. RAGBRAI Agreement

Motion by Finnegan and second by Kregel to approve an agreement with the Guttenberg RAGBRAI Committee to use (3) 12-passenger vans and shower facilities. Motion carried unanimously.

 

  1. Employment

Motion by Johnson and second by Finnegan to approve the following resignations and hires:

 

Resignations

  • McKenna Keeney – 1st Grade Teacher
  • Karen Reichard – 2nd Grade PLC Strategist
  • Tadd Schutte – PE PLC Strategist

 

Hires

  • Hudson Johnston – 3rd Grade Teacher
  • Kenzie Friedlein – Assistant Jr. High Girls Track

 

Voluntary Transfer

  • Tierney Hoefer – Hired as 1st Grade Teacher

 

Motion carried unanimously.

 

Adjournment

Motion by Kregel and second by Mommer to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously.

 

Meeting Adjourned at 5:56 PM
