WORK SESSION AND SPECIAL MEETING
April 5, 2023
The Clayton Ridge Board of Directors held a Work Session on April 5, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. in the High School Library, Guttenberg.
Members in attendance were Mike Finnegan, Christine Aulwes, Alicia Helle, Ellen Johnson, Jessica Bittner, John Heying, and Jason Reimer.
Also attending were Superintendent Shane Wahls, Board Secretary David Schlueter, Principal Terri Thompson, Dean of Students Wade Marlow and 18 staff members and 1 guest.
Agenda
- IASB: Policy Review and Board Governance
Tammi Drawbaugh of IASB led a board development workshop.
- Discuss Administrative Structure
Discussion was held regarding Superintendent, Principals, Dean of Students, and Athletic Director positions and FTE for 2023-24.
Work Session adjourned at 5:37 PM.
The Clayton Ridge Board of Directors held a Special Meeting at 5:37 p.m. in the High School Library, Guttenberg.
The meeting was called to order by President Heying. All members, staff, and guests from work session remained in attendance.
Motion by Helle and second by Aulwes to approve the agenda. The motion carried unanimously.
New Business
- Closed Session – Superintendent Evaluation
Motion by Aulwes and second by Johnson to enter closed session per Iowa Code 21.5(i) to evaluate the professional competency of an individual whose appointment, hiring, performance, or discharge is being considered when necessary to prevent needless and irreparable injury to that individual’s reputation and that individual requests a closed session. Motion carried unanimously.
Entered closed session at 5:44 PM
Motion by Finnegan and second by Helle to return to open session. Motion carried unanimously.
Returned to open session at 7:00 PM
Adjournment
Motion by Bittner and second by Finnegan to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously.
