CLAYTON RIDGE COMMUNITY SCHOOL

BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING

January 11, 2024

 

The Clayton Ridge Board of Directors held their regular monthly meeting on January 11, 2024 in the High School Library, Guttenberg.

 

Call to Order/Roll Call

President Jessica Bittner called the meeting to order at 5:00 PM.  Other members in attendance were TJ Pierce, Shelly Mommer, Mike Finnegan, Dan Kregel, and Ellen Johnson. Sam Brandt was absent.

 

Also in attendance were Superintendent Shane Wahls, Assistant Business Manager Logan Taylor, and Board Secretary David Schlueter.

 

Guest was Mindy Reimer.

 

Approval of Agenda

Motion by Finnegan and second by Johnson to approve the agenda.  (Strike Item 3. Open Enrollments) Motion carried unanimously.

 

Reports / Communication

Wahls reported that the IASB finance team presentation will be postponed to February 15; the IASB new member on boarding meeting will be in Decorah on January 24; members are invited to attend IASB Day on the Hill; options for acquiring space for the Therapeutic School will be discussed at the next meeting of the Building and Grounds committee.

 

Consensus of the board to approve Bittner’s request to have Finnegan serve on the Building and Grounds committee in her place.

 

Consent Agenda

Motion by Pierce and second by Johnson to approve the minutes from the December 14 regular meeting and the minutes from the January 4 work session; December financial statements; and listing of invoices; there were no payroll requests. Motion carried unanimously.

 

New Business

  1. Employment

Motion by Mommer and second by Finnegan to hire Kurt Ross as Assistant Coach-Baseball and to accept resignation of Jr High Football Coach Casey Zarr. Motion carried unanimously.

 

  1. Lane Change Requests

Motion by Johnson and second by Mommer to approve salary schedule lane change for Angela Williams. Motion carried unanimously.

 

 

 

 

  1. Early Retirement Applications

Motion by Finnegan and second by Pierce to approve an early retirement application and accept resignation from Elementary Nurse Renae Kraus, effective end of the school year. Motion carried unanimously.

Motion by Pierce and second by Finnegan to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously.
