BOARD OF DIRECTORS SPECIAL MEETING
May 27, 2026
The Clayton Ridge Board of Directors held a special meeting on May 27, 2026 at 5:35 pm in the Elementary School Library, Garnavillo.
Call to Order/Roll Call
President Jessica Bittner called the meeting to order at 5:35 PM. Other members in attendance were Sam Brandt, Mike Finnegan, Ellen Johnson, Dan Kregel, Shelly Mommer, and TJ Pierce.
Also in attendance were Superintendent Shane Wahls and Board Secretary Logan.
There were no other guests present.
Approval of Agenda
Motion by Finnegan and second by Johnson to approve the agenda as posted. Motion carried unanimously.
New Business
- 2026-27 Mentor & Instructional Coach Contracts
Motion by Brandt and second by Kregel to issue 2026-27 Mentor and Instructional Coach Contracts as listed. Motion carried unanimously.
- FY26 Budget Amendment
Motion by Finnegan and second by Johnson to approve the FY26 Budget Amendment as presented. The total budget increase was $577,561 related to budget debt payment coding. Motion carried unanimously.
- Employment
Motion by Kregel and second by Mommer to approve the following resignations:

- Mackenzie Stannard – Junior High Cross Country Coach
- Aaron Mueller – Skills USA Iowa Advisor
Motion carried unanimously.
- Denovo Construction Solutions Facility Assessment
Motion by Kregel and second by Brandt to approve a quote received from Denovo Construction Solutions to complete a District-wide facilities assessment. The total quote amount is $7,500. Motion carried unanimously.
- Closed Session – Discuss Purchase of Real Estate
Motion by Finnegan and second by Mommer to enter closed session per Iowa Code 21.5 (1)j. for purposes of discussing sale or purchase of real estate. Motion carried unanimously.

Motion by Johnson and second by Kregel to enter open session. Motion carried unanimously.
Open session entered at 6:41 pm.

Motion by Brandt and second by Mommer to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously.
