BOARD OF DIRECTORS SPECIAL MEETING
August 28, 2025
The Clayton Ridge Board of Directors held a special meeting on August 28, 2025 in the Superintendent’s Office, Guttenberg.
Call to Order/Roll Call
Vice President Mike Finnegan called the meeting to order at 8:00 AM. Other members in attendance were Ellen Johnson, Sam Brandt, and TJ Pierce. Jessica Bittner, Dan Kregel, and Shelly Mommer were absent.
Also in attendance were Superintendent Shane Wahls and Board Secretary / Business Manager Logan.
There were no other guests present.
Approval of Agenda
Motion by Pierce and second by Brandt to approve the agenda. Motion carried unanimously.
New Business
- Employment
Motion by Johnson and second by Brandt to hire JayLyn Moore as Assistant Volleyball Coach. Motion carried unanimously.
- Volunteer Junior High Football Coach
Motion by Johnson and second by Pierce to hire Kyle Burns as Volunteer Junior High Football Coach. Motion carried unanimously.
- Open Enrollments
Motion by Brandt and second by Pierce to deny 28 Open Enrollment In applications to the Iowa Virtual Academy due to IEP requirements. Motion carried unanimously.
- Overnight Travel
Motion by Johnson and second by Pierce to approve overnight travel for Student Senate to attend a state conference in October 2025. Motion carried unanimously.
Adjournment
Motion by Brandt and second by Pierce to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously.
