 Fresh Market:  Chicken patty, Hamburger steak, mashed potatoes, glazed carrots, hot roll, fresh garden salad, fruit  muffin,milk

The boys’ varsity Cross Country team placed 6th place at the South Winneshiek Invitational held on October 3. The team score consisted of times from Jesus Lara-Jasper, Fernando Flores, Ethan Backes, Jace Fassbinder, Jackson Smith, Caleb Lawerence, and Colton Hoeger.  Jesus came in first for the guys placing 29th.  The team ran well with half of the team setting their personal best times.  They beat the following schools:  MFL, Waterloo Christian, Postville, and Kee High.  Overall the boys team is improving this season with their hard work ethic and determination to want to improve.
The middle school boys were able to secure a 3rd place finish as a team. The team members are Evan Claycamp, Russell Chmelar, Parker Hefel, Tate Armstrong, Tyler Gaul, and Bentley Shaw. Three members finished in the top twenty. Evan Claycamp completed the race in 2nd place with Russell Chmelar finishing next in 13th place. Parker Hefel finished in 16th place.  Evan Claycamp shattered the 8th grade record of 12:18 and ran a time of 11:20.  Parker Hefel also broke the school record and ran a time of 13:16 for 7th grade.
The girls have been improving their overall times throughout this season. They finished in 8th place. Many of the girls improved their overall time for this course from last season. The team consisted of Daisy Dickson, Audrey Dickson, Pfeiffer Horns, Hailey Gaul, and Hinkley Simon.  Three of the girls set new personal best times which were Audrey, Pfeiffer, and Hailey.

We will have an NHS meeting on Monday during advisory to review responsibilities and roles for the NHS Induction Ceremony on Wednesday, October 4.

Silver Cord forms are due Wednesday, October 4 at 2:00.  Fall Awards Assembly (academic & service learning) is Wednesday, October 11 during Advisory.
