Upper Iowa Conference Cross Country Meet 

Wednesday, October 11th, 2023

The boys’ varsity Cross Country team placed 5th in the Upper Iowa Conference Meet hosted by South Winn at the Silver Springs Golf Course in Ossian.  The boys’ team score consisted of times from Jesus Lara-Jasper, Fernando Flores, Ethan Backes, Jace Fassbinder, Colton Hoeger, Jackson Smith, and Caleb Lawrence.  The top fifteen runners medaled at the Conference Meet.  Jesus Lara-Jasper ran one of his best times for the season and secured a 10th place finish, thus medaling  

The JV team finished in 2nd place and the team was made up of Luke Cook, Leland Mueller, Cater Judkins, Kasey Thiese, and Nathaniel Edwards.  We had three JV runners medal, which were Luke Cook who had a 10th place finish and a personal best time, Leland Mueller with a 13th place finish, and Carter Judkins with a 14th place finish.  

The middle school boys were able to secure a 3rd place finish as a team.  The team member are Evan Claycamp, Russell Chmelar, Parker Hefel, Tate Armstrong, and Bentley Shaw .  There were two members that finished in the top fifteen and they were Evan Claycamp and Russell Chmelar.  Evan Claycamp ran a time of 12:16 and finished in 3rd place.  Russell Chmelar finished strong and was able to finish in 10th place with a time of 13:10.  The middle school boys’ had a great season!  

The girls’ variety team have been improving their overall times this season.  They finished in 6th place in Conference.  Many of the girls improved their overall time throughout this season.  The team consisted of Daisy Dickson, Audrey Dickson, Pfeiffer Horns, Hailey Gaul, Hinkley Simon, Mollie Schaefers, and Alyssa Sadewasser.  Audrey Dickson came in first for the girls with a time of 25:36.
